Lincoln was incorporated in 1911 and was a small southern
town located in the northern area of Talladega County. Then came Interstate
20 which is situated through the city limits and is the main corridor between
Birmingham (appx. 40 miles east) and Atlanta (appx. 90 miles west). Businesses
began to develop within the area and Lincoln has started to grow. Talladega Super Speedway and
the International
Motor Sports Hall of Fame has brought the racing fans and is only a
few miles off Highway 77 South . NOW Lincoln has become a hub of activity
and excitement with the construction beginning of the new Honda
Plant.
Lincoln will remain Southern with gracious manners and friendly
people -
But it is speeding into the future!
